Eligibility Requirements for Domestic Boarding and Day Fees:

Domestic boarding and day student tuition is aligned with other independent schools across British Columbia.

To qualify for domestic tuition rates, the student’s parent or legal guardian must reside in BC on a full-time basis and hold one of the following: Canadian citizenship, Permanent Resident status, or a valid Canadian work permit. Eligibility is based on the status and residency of the parent or legal guardian—not the student.

Please note that students who hold a Canadian passport but whose parents or legal guardians do not live in BC full-time are not eligible for domestic tuition fees.

During the admissions process, families will be asked to provide documentation to confirm residency and status.

Supporting English Language Development

SJASL offers English language support to help students succeed both academically and socially within our school community.

English Language Learning (ELL): Available for students in Grades 7–10, ELL is integrated into the school day in place of French, providing structured language development within a supportive classroom environment.

Students entering Grades 11 & 12 are expected to demonstrate strong English language proficiency, as ELL is not offered at the senior level.

English Intensive (EI): For students who would benefit from additional support, English Intensive provides focused language instruction outside of regular school hours. This option is available to students in Grades 11 & 12, as well as younger students who require enhanced language development.
