Our Boarding Family

Born and raised on the Canadian Prairies, Katie is originally from Saskatoon, completed her undergraduate degree in Winnipeg, then moved to rural Saskatchewan for work before finally making her way to Vancouver Island in early 2020. She spent the beginning of her career working in camping and recreation, primarily with children and youth along with organizing rentals and registrations in the office setting. She then spent time in the public school system, working as an educational assistant in elementary schools and specified support programs for children with disabilities. Katie has a strong belief that joy and recreation are important ingredients in both growing up and staying young, and tries to bring that (along with her organizational skills) to the

St. John’s Academy boarding community.
