Learning Support Services
At St. John’s Academy Shawnigan Lake, we are committed to supporting student success within our academically rigorous learning environment. As an IB World School, our programs are designed for students who are able to work independently with appropriate accommodations and support strategies in place.
Please note that SJASL offers limited learning support services and is not able to provide intensive educational assistance or full-time specialized programming. Families are encouraged to maintain supplementary outside support where appropriate.
To ensure students are appropriately supported, all applicants requesting accommodations or learning support must provide:
-
A current Psycho-Educational Assessment (Psych-Ed)
-
Copies of previous Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
-
Any relevant specialist reports or documentation
Upon enrollment, existing IEPs and accommodation plans will be reviewed and updated collaboratively with our Learning Support team to align with SJASL programming and IB expectations.
