Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family makes. At St. John’s Academy Shawnigan Lake, our admissions process is designed to be personal, supportive, and genuinely two-directional: we want to get to know your child and your family as much as you want to get to know us. Whether you are a local family exploring day school options or joining us from across the world as a boarding student, we are here to guide you through every step. Applications for Entry
Applications for the 2026-2027 School Year
We are welcoming applications for day students in grades 4 and 5, with a few additional spaces available in upper grades (inquire for more information). We recommend that families submit their applications at the earliest convenience as spaces are limited.
Applications for the 2027-2028 School Year
Re-enrollment is open for current students to offer priority registration until February, 2027. New student applications for the 2027-2028 school year are open; new students may be waitlisted until re-enrollment for current students has been completed.

A day in the life of a Seawolf
The best way to know whether St. John’s Academy is the right fit is to experience it. Eligible applicants are invited to spend a Shadow Day with us, attending classes, exploring the campus, and getting a genuine feel for life at our school. This is a chance for your child to ask questions, make connections, and imagine themselves as part of our community, and it is one of our favourite parts of the admissions journey. Shadow Days are arranged as part of the application process, and our admissions team will be in touch with all the details once your application is underway.
